Like most of the rest of the country it’s been cold the last few days. We lost power for 10 hours at the coldest/windiest on Saturday but that’s mild compared to others. In the Portland area, the usual route out is when a warm front moves in on top of the ice. The rain falls through the cold to the frozen ground and freezes. I could take exactly one step out the front door; the steps were covered in about ¼ inch ice. But I was able to take a couple of pictures of the ice on the rhododendrons outside our front door.
