It’s that time of year – the wood ducks are courting and finding places to lay their eggs. Thanks to our neighbor Jonathan Schluter there are plenty of homes in the green space behind our home: he has put up at least a dozen wood duck boxes. Now are the boxes wood or are they boxes for wood ducks. The better name is wooden wood duck boxes. 🙂
Here is a male (right?) hanging out while his mate is attending to matters inside the box just off our deck.
