There is a reason I run screaming from the timeshare sales people. You know: the companies that offer you a free week at a resort and all you have to do is attend a one hour sales pitch to buy into a timeshare. I’m a Star Wars storm trooper a the hands of a Jedi master: “This is the pan you are looking for.”

Green Thai Curry Chicken Soup
We went looking for a thick Thai curry dish and found a soup. This is a nice chicken soup with a bit of pleasant zing from the green curry paste. If you are looking for a variation on chicken soup, this is a worthy recipe. While the chicken soup was very flavorful, it didn’t scratch our curry itch.
Dancing at the Rascal Fair by Ivan Doig
Far and away my favorite of the five Ivan Doig novels I’ve read. If you enjoy expansive, well-written stories of the American West, this trilogy, and especially this novel is a great place to dive in.
Pasta with Mushroom Ragu
Like pork and apples, mushrooms are a perfect Fall ingredient. What do you get when you cook down 1½ pounds of mushrooms with shallots, garlic, and thyme then serve it over pasta that was cooked in chicken stock and cream? I got the most delicious meal I’ve eaten in months. It’s perfect earthy comfort food for a cold and rainy Fall day. Cook it for someone you love.
